The Creation and The Ark

Day 1

TAMARACK • WE ARE MARSHALL TOUR • DINNER • HUNTINGTON, WV:

Today we travel north stopping for a break in Beckley at Tamarack, West Virginia’s Artisan Center. Enjoy lunch on your own and take time to browse the selection of handmade West Virginia arts and crafts. Next, we drive on to Huntington. The second largest city in West Virginia, it became known worldwide when the movie We Are Marshall was released in 2006. On our tour, we remember the 75 people who perished in the plane crash of 1970, including 37 of Marshall University’s football players. After our tour, we have an included dinner at a local restaurant before checking into our hotel for the evening. (D)
Day 2

CREATION MUSEUM • STARGAZER’S PLANETARIUM • DINNER:

After breakfast we depart for Kentucky. We explore the state-of-the-art Answers in Genesis Creation Museum. The museum brings the pages of the Bible to life, casting its characters and animals in dynamic form and placing them in familiar settings. The museum allows for personal interaction with each of the 160 exhibits. Walk through the Garden of Eden, see life-size dinosaurs, and enjoy the Special Effects Theatre. At the Stargazer’s Planetarium, we learn about the heavens from a biblical perspective. Tonight we enjoy another included dinner before checking into our Lexington area hotel for a two-night stay. (D)
Day 3

TOYOTA FACTORY TRAM TOUR • ARK ENCOUNTER:

Our first stop is the largest automobile manufacturing plant in North America, Toyota, providing a guided tram-driven factory tour while visiting a portion of 7.5 million square feet of floor space. Each day, around 2,000 Toyotas are hand crafted here by skilled Kentuckians, including America’s bestselling car for 13 years running, the Camry. This afternoon we experience the life-sized Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Dozens of exhibits within this unique attraction bring to life the biblical account of Noah’s Ark. We learn how Noah and his family could have fit and cared for the animals on the Ark. Other exhibits showcase what Noah and his world were like before the flood, while others highlight the enormous impact the flood has had on our world. We return to hotel for the night.
Day 4

MARY TODD LINCOLN HOME • HOME:

This morning we stop in Lexington, KY, to discover more about one of America’s fascinating first lady, Abraham Lincoln’s wife, on a visit to her girlhood home. The 14-room house tells the story of Mary Todd Lincoln, featuring family portraits and furnishings from the Todd and Lincoln families. We travel home with the memory of the delightful time we had.
