11-Night Cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Star

Day 1

Today we depart the USA for our overnight flight to London.
Day 2

Once our flight arrives we are transferred to Southampton to board our home for the next 12 nights. Take time to explore the “Norwegian Star” and learn of the amazing amenities she has to offer. The Star boasts more than 10 restaurants, including venues serving Tex-Mex, Japanese and French cuisine, and nearly 10 bars and lounges. The Norwegian Star lives up to the cruise line’s reputation for innovative Broadway and Vegas-style productions entertainment. There’s something for everyone on-board The Star.
Day 3

Here’s your opportunity to get to know the amazing Norwegian Star, our luxurious hotel for the duration of our cruise. Take it easy and relax to the sound of ocean waves or simply grab a towel and your favorite book to enjoy poolside. Enjoy the delicious food! Take in a thrilling show on stage, stay up late or go to bed early – the choice is yours!
Day 4

Make sure you pack your walking shoes as there is plenty to do in Edinburgh. Choose from a variety of optional excursions allowing you to take part in the royal experience and explore the city. You may stroll along the medieval Royal Mile to the Palace of Holyroodhouse to see the abbey and Queen Mary’s chambers. Savor the old town’s marvelous Georgian and Victorian architecture. Marvel at the impressive Edinburgh Castle, high on its volcanic crag with a fabulous view and visit St. Giles’ Cathedral where John Knox once preached.
Day 5

This beautiful island holds rich history and many ancient treasures. You may choose to visit the trio of St. Magnus Cathedral, ruins of Earl’s Palace, and Bishop Palace or stop at a local pub to grab a meal.
Day 6

Capital of the Shetland Islands, Lerwick is noted for its vibrant colored Victorian houses and namesake ponies. Surrounded by dramatic sculptured cliffs and tranquil sand bays, this little town offers optional adventures to Fort Charlotte, Scalloway Castle, and Jarlshof.
Day 7

Chosen as the European Capital of Culture in 2008, Stavanger lies in southwestern Norway’s stunning fjord region. Old Stavanger has been meticulously preserved with many of its wooden cottages converted into art galleries and boutiques. But it’s the museums that set this cosmopolitan city apart. Book an optional excursion to visit one of Stavanger’s museums to view collections that include maritime, medical and printing artifacts. Or get outside and take a cruise around the fjords!
Day 8

Credited as one of Norway’s most beautiful towns, Alesund is famous for its Jugend-styled architecture and unique layout. With scenic views of fjords and the Sunnmore Alps, Alesund offers a wide variety of optional excursions including Atlantic Ocean Park, a countryside tour, and much more!
Day 9

Take this day to relax and enjoy the ship after five fun-filled days of adventure. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the ocean touching the horizon, enjoy a good book, people watch, or take advantage of a show on the main stage!
Day 10

Located on the shores of one of the most breathtaking fjords in Iceland, Akureyri is home to Icelandic folk culture. Whether you enjoy shopping at charming boutiques, strolling through beautiful botanical gardens, or feasting on Nordic specialty meals, there’s something to do for everyone.
Day 11

As the largest town in Iceland’s remote Westfjords’s region, Ísafjörður is a magnet for outdoor enthusiasts. Boasting an enchanting fjord ideal for watersports, a mountainous landscape brimming with opportunities for hiking, biking, horseback riding and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Originally a church site and a 16th century trading post, the town of Ísafjörður is home to wonderful museums and historic sites for those wishing to learn about the region’s rich heritage and local culture. One optional tour includes a cruise through Seyðisfjörður’s namesake fjord exploring some of the most extraordinary countryside in east Iceland, stopping along the way to observe the natural beauty and wildlife.

Make plans and book a tour to venture into the beautiful Thingvellir National Park - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which ranks at the top of Iceland’s attractions!
