Join Christian Tours on a safari at the North Carolina Zoo, the world’s largest natural habitat zoo, on arrival we enjoy a box lunch before our exploration. The animals here have plenty of room to roam, and so will we, through the numerous indoor and outdoor habitats where over 1,800 animals call this park home. The animal habitats represent two regions—Africa and North America—plus a global Desert and a tropical, free-flight Aviary. See the buffalos on the prairie and the chimps in the Kiterie Forest of Africa. You will want to take lots of photos in the aviary where over 100 exotic bird species live. Explore the desert before we leave, a glass-domed building designed to recreate an arid, colorful home. On our way home, we stop in Lexington for some of the world’s best bbq!
