BOWLING GREEN, KENTUCKY

America’s Heartland. Today’s journey
carries us through Tennessee into
Bowling Green, Kentucky. This evening
we enjoy dinner at one of the area’s
well-known restaurants. (D)Day 2
NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM
• RC COMPONENTS • ITALIAN
DINNER:
This morning, we visit the
National Corvette Museum which
features over 80 Corvettes in periodic
settings, including mint classics, oneof-
a-kind prototypes and modern-day
wonders of engineering and design.
We visit RC Components to see how
they make racing wheels for cars and
motorcycles. We travel to Columbia,
Missouri, for our overnite. (D)Day 3
UNION STATION WALKING
TOUR • OMAHA • UKRAINIAN
PRESENTATION • GREEK DINNER &
DANCE :
Today we visit the historic
Union Station in Kansas City. While
on our walking tour we see Union
Station through the eyes of those who
witnessed and shaped its history. We’ll
go back in time to the Station’s glorious
opening in 1914 and experience
memorable events that have shaped
this iconic building We have lunch
on our own before our travels take
us through the corn fields of Iowa
into Omaha, Nebraska. Here, we
learn about the Ukrainian linens and
traditions from Ukrainian speaker,
Olesia Reprichowskyj. Olesia is a native
of Ukraine and gives an entertaining
presentation on life in her native
country. This evening visit St. John’s
Greek Orthodox Church for dinner
followed by a Greek Wedding Dance.
We overnight in beautiful Omaha for
two nights. (D)Day 4
LITHUANIAN BAKERY • OMAHA
SIGHTSEEING TOUR • DURHAM
MUSEUM • POLISH LUNCH & DANCE
• MEXICAN FOLK DANCERS:
This
morning we meet our local guide
who will share Omaha’s international
treasures. We hear a brief history
of the country of Lithuania as we
visit the Lithuanian Bakery to sample
Lithuanian torts. The Durham Museum
includes several restored train cars
and more information about Mid-
Western Heritage in this beautifully
restored 1930’s art deco train station.
We break for a traditional Polish lunch.
After lunch we enjoy a presentation
of the Polish culture, traditions, and
a Polish dance. Our sightseeing tour
will continue through the beautiful
Gold Coast neighborhoods of Omaha,
including a drive by billionaire Warren
Buffet’s home. We will also see the
birth-site of former President Gerald
Ford. At Pioneer Courage Park, we’ll
stop for photos and walk among a
nearly life-size replica of an 1850’s
wagon train. Our day ends with a visit
to El Museo Latino where we will be
entertained by the Folk Dancers of
Mexico. (L)Day 5
BOYS TOWN • LAURITZEN
GARDENS • IRISH LUNCH:
This
morning we visit Boys Town the famous
village of children established in 1917
by Father Flanagan and made famous
by the 1938 movie starring Mickey
Rooney. Boys Town still serves as a
refuge for abused, abandoned and
neglected boys and girls. Mid morning
we visit Lauritzen Gardens including
the visitors center which includes a
5,000 sq ft floral display hall. Our tram
ride will take us through this 100 acre
oasis of beauty and tranquility as we
experience the glory of the gardens.
For lunch we partake of a common Irish
luncheon dish called a “boxty.” From
here we arrive in the beautiful Dutch
Village of Pella, Iowa. We have dinner
on our own and enjoy the glockenspiel.

PELLA DUTCH COMMUNITY •
DUTCH WINDMILL • WYATT EARP
HOME • AMISH FARM LUNCH:
Today we
enjoy the quaint little Dutch Village of
Pella. At the Pella Historical Village, we
tour a working Dutch Windmill, visit
the Wyatt Earp Home and tour the
museum. We also have time to enjoy
the many shops in the village. Be sure
to visit the bakery! This afternoon we
travel to Kalona, Iowa, where we have
late lunch in a Beachy Amish family’s
home. We travel to Peoria, Illinois, for
our overnight stay. (L)Day 7
LINCOLN LIBRARY & MUSEUM •
PATTI’S 1880’S SETTLEMENT:
Our
travels today take us to Springfield,
Illinois. Lincoln spent almost a quarter
of a century in Springfield, where
he married, raised his family and
practiced law. Here we visit the Lincoln
Presidential Library and Museum.
Early evening finds us at Patti’s 1880’s
Settlement in Grand Rivers, Kentucky.
The settlement has two great
restaurants, a flower garden, gift shop,
and much more. Enjoy a delightful
southern-style dinner here. We
overnight near Clarksville, Tennessee. (D)Day 8
HOME:
After a restful night’s sleep,
we board our comfortable Prevost
motorcoach and head home. What a
time we’ve had experiencing the world
without a passport!
