Day 2
SHIPSHEWANA FLEA MARKET •
DAVIS MERCANTILE • VAN BUREN
HOTEL • DINNER:
After breakfast, we
make our way to Shipshewana, Indiana
—the heart of Amish Country. Our
first stop is the famous Shipshewana
Flea Market, a seasonal tradition with
hundreds of vendors offering handmade
crafts, antiques, and delicious
treats. We have time to explore Davis
Mercantile, a delightful collection of
boutique shops under one roof—
perfect for finding unique souvenirs
and sampling local flavors. We check
into our home for the next three nights,
the charming Van Buren Hotel, known
for its warm hospitality and cozy
atmosphere. We enjoy dinner together
at a local favorite. (D)
Day 3
INDIANA AMISH FOOD TOUR •
LUNCH • GAITHER VOCAL BAND:
This morning, we immerse ourselves
in Amish culinary traditions with a
guided food tour that offers delicious
discoveries at every stop. Snack, sample
and take home some of Indiana’s best
Amish foods on our tour. Following our
included lunch, we head to the Blue
Gate Theatre for an afternoon performance
by the celebrated Gaither Vocal
Band. Their inspiring harmonies and
uplifting gospel sound are the perfect
complement to our day in Amish
Country. Evening is yours to relax at
the Van Buren Hotel. (L)
Day 4
JAYCO FACTORY • STUDEBAKER
NATIONAL MUSEUM • OLIVER
MANSION • DINNER • OAK RIDGE
BOYS:
We tour the Jayco Factory and
experience the processes and craftsmanship
involved in the meticulous
work of manufacturing luxury fifth wheel
motorhomes. We have the chance to
walk through some of the latest models
in the outdoor showroom. We take a
short ride to South Bend to experience
over a century on wheels at the Studebaker
National Museum. Explore
collections of presidential carriages and
military vehicles plus the Studebaker
family’s 1835 Conestoga Wagon and
the last car to roll off the Studebaker
assembly line in 1966. Next we visit the
mansion of well known inventor and
industrialist J.D. Oliver. Creator of South
Bend Iron Works, Oliver invented
equipment that made farming easier.
Returning to Shipshewana, we gather
for an included dinner at the Blue Gate
Restaurant, famous for its fresh baked
bread and hearty country fare. The day
ends on a high note with a spectacular
evening performance by the legendary
Oak Ridge Boys at the Blue Gate Theatre
—a true highlight of the trip. (D)
Day 5
FRANKLIN PARK CONSERVATORY
• COLUMBUS OH • DINNER:
Today
we begin our journey homeward, but
the adventure continues with a stop
in Columbus, OH, at the Franklin Park
Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.
Here, vibrant seasonal blooms, glasshouse
exhibits, and tranquil outdoor
paths create a peaceful and colorful
experience. We have an included dinner
together this evening before we overnight
in the Columbus area for our last
evening on the road. (D)
Day 6
TRAVEL HOME:
After breakfast,
we board our motorcoach for the
final stretch home. As we reflect on
the past week, we remember the rich
Amish traditions, delicious food, spectacular
performances, and the beauty
of spring in the Midwest—memories
that will last a lifetime.
