LURAY CAVERNS • ANTIQUE CAR
MUSEUM:
A beautiful ride is before
us today as we make our way north
through the Shenandoah Valley to Luray
Caverns, eastern America's largest
network of caves. Among these majestic
formations are paved walkways leading
to the most spectacular underground
scenes, including the world's only
“stalacpipe organ.” The Antique Car
Museum houses a huge assortment of
interesting vehicles. We overnight in
the Chambersburg, PA area.Day 2
HERSHEY • CHOCOLATE WORLD
• HEBREW TABERNACLE
EXPERIENCE • FAMILY STYLE DINNER
• DUTCH APPLE DINNER THEATRE OR
MAGIC & WONDER THEATER:
This
morning we arrive in Hershey,
Pennsylvania, the “Chocolate Capital of
the World!” This community is named
after Milton Hershey, who built a
chocolate factory here in 1903. We'll
visit Chocolate World to see how this
famous candy is made. After lunch we
visit the Hebrew Tabernacle Experience,
a full-size reproduction of Moses' original
Hebrew Tabernacle. This structure is
based upon the instructions given by
God to Moses in the book of Exodus.
We check into our hotel in Lancaster
for a two night stay, before heading out
for the evening. On the June departure
this evening we enjoy dinner & the
show “Elvis” at the Dutch Apple Dinner
Theatre. On the September departure
you'll have dinner & see the show
“Guys & Dolls”. The October departure
includes a family style Amish and
Pennsylvania Dutch feast before taking
our seats at the Magic &
Wonder Theater. This comedy, variety
and magic show will astound and inspire
us. Brett and the cast captivate the
audience with large illusions, circus
arts, comedy, and dynamic variety
while also reminding us of the true
magic that exists around us. (D)Day 3
AMISH COUNTRY TOUR • AMISH
FARMER'S MARKET OR KITCHEN
KETTLE VILLAGE • “MOSES” AT THE
SIGHT & SOUND THEATRE • DINNER:
This morning we meet our local guide
for a fascinating tour of the Amish
country with its fertile fields and early
American charm. Next, we stop at
either Bird-in-Hand Market or Kitchen
Kettle Village. You will be able to
purchase homemade baked goods
and local craft & souvenir items.
This afternoon, we take our seats at
Sight & Sound Theatre for “Moses”!
This Biblical story comes to life with
magnificent sets, special effects and
live animals in this original stage
production from Sight & Sound
Theatres. You will witness baby Moses
on the banks of the Nile, Moses
leading the Israelites as they cross the
Red Sea, and Moses as he encounters
God at the burning bush. After the
show, we'll enjoy a another delicious
dinner together before returning to our
hotel for the night. (D)Day 4
GETTYSBURG BATTLEFIELD
• LUNCH • GETTYSBURG VISITORS
CENTER • EISENHOWER HOME •
CYCLORAMA:
This morning we travel to
Gettysburg, the scene of the most
decisive battle of the Civil War. Tour the
battlefield and learn about the largest
battle ever fought on American soil.
Lunch is included at the Dobbin House,
Gettysburg's oldest, most historic
home which has been beautifully and
authentically restored. We'll visit the
Gettysburg Visitors Center then tour
President Eisenhower's retirement
home and farm, where Mamie continued
to live until her death in 1981. Later we
visit the Gettysburg Cyclorama, a 360
degree painting depicting the Battle of
Gettysburg. We spend the night in the
Staunton, VA area. (L)Day 5
MONTICELLO • HOME:
This morning
we tour Monticello, a showcase
to the genius of Thomas Jefferson.
You'll be amazed at the “modern”
inventions Jefferson built into his home
as early as 1810! Soon we must
complete our journey home, arriving
late in the afternoon.
