Day 1
CUMBERLAND FALLS • KENTUCKY:
This morning we travel west through
the beautiful Smoky Mountains. After
our lunch stop in Knoxville, we head
north to Kentucky. We vere off the
interstate to visit Cumberland Falls
State Park. Cumberland Falls is
sometimes called the “Little Niagara”,
or “Niagara of the South.” Our home
for tonight is just north of Lexington,
Kentucky.Day 2
THE ARK ENCOUNTER • ANSWERS
IN GENESIS CREATION MUSEUM •
DINNER:
After breakfast, we travel to
The Ark Encounter, a one-of-a-kind
historically themed attraction. In an
entertaining, educational, and immersive
way, The Ark brings the Bible to life and
presents a number of historical events
centered on a full-size, all-wood Ark, sure
to be the largest timber-frame structure
in the USA. This afternoon we visit the
Answers in Genesis Creation Museum.
The museum will proclaim to the world
that the Bible is the supreme authority.
You'll journey through a visual presentation
of the history of the world based on
the “7 C's of History: Creation, Corruption,
Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross,
and Consummation.” We enjoy an evening
out and included dinner before checking
into our hotel. (D)Day 3
AMISH COUNTRY • AMISH LUNCH
• LEHMAN'S HARDWARE:
This
morning we travel to the largest Amish
and Mennonite settlement in the United
States. We enjoy a family style “all you
can eat” meal in an Amish home. After
lunch we visit Lehman's Hardware where
you step into an 1840's era barn. You
feel like you've stepped back 100 years
in time. Today, Lehman's ships oldfashioned,
non-electric merchandise all
over the world through their catalog and
online. We spend the next two nights in
the Amish country. (L)Day 4
AMISH FARMLANDS TOUR •
CYCLORAMA • AMISH SHOPPING •
DINNER • AMISH COUNTRY THEATRE:
This morning we depart on our countryside
tour with a local step-on guide who
will explain the history and culture of the
area while we travel deep into the heart
of the Amish Farmlands. We visit the
Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center,
home of the cyclorama mural, Behalt.
This afternoon we take time to visit the
unique shops here in the Amish country,
including a cheese shop and bulk food
store. We enjoy a delicious dinner
together. This evening we take our seats
for a hilarious family-friendly variety show
at the Amish Country Theatre. This will be
a fun-packed 2-hour comedy adventure. (D)Day 5
WARTHER CARVINGS • HOME:
This
morning we visit the shop of the
world's master carver, Ernest Warther.
Using only a knife, files, and native ingenuity,
he carved the history of steam
locomotives and trains. He also carved an
18th century steel mill and other intricate
carvings. Mrs. Warther's button collection
is also an interesting thing to see. On
our way home we'll recall the fun we've
had, the places and sights we've seen
and the meals we've enjoyed!
