The Creation, The Ark and The Amish

Day 1

CUMBERLAND FALLS • KENTUCKY:

This morning we travel west through the beautiful Smoky Mountains. After our lunch stop in Knoxville, we head north to Kentucky. We vere off the interstate to visit Cumberland Falls State Park. Cumberland Falls is sometimes called the “Little Niagara”, or “Niagara of the South.” Our home for tonight is just north of Lexington, Kentucky.
Day 2

THE ARK ENCOUNTER • ANSWERS IN GENESIS CREATION MUSEUM • DINNER:

After breakfast, we travel to The Ark Encounter, a one-of-a-kind historically themed attraction. In an entertaining, educational, and immersive way, The Ark brings the Bible to life and presents a number of historical events centered on a full-size, all-wood Ark, sure to be the largest timber-frame structure in the USA. This afternoon we visit the Answers in Genesis Creation Museum. The museum will proclaim to the world that the Bible is the supreme authority. You'll journey through a visual presentation of the history of the world based on the “7 C's of History: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation.” We enjoy an evening out and included dinner before checking into our hotel. (D)
Day 3

AMISH COUNTRY • AMISH LUNCH • LEHMAN'S HARDWARE:

This morning we travel to the largest Amish and Mennonite settlement in the United States. We enjoy a family style “all you can eat” meal in an Amish home. After lunch we visit Lehman's Hardware where you step into an 1840's era barn. You feel like you've stepped back 100 years in time. Today, Lehman's ships oldfashioned, non-electric merchandise all over the world through their catalog and online. We spend the next two nights in the Amish country. (L)
Day 4

AMISH FARMLANDS TOUR • CYCLORAMA • AMISH SHOPPING • DINNER • AMISH COUNTRY THEATRE:

This morning we depart on our countryside tour with a local step-on guide who will explain the history and culture of the area while we travel deep into the heart of the Amish Farmlands. We visit the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center, home of the cyclorama mural, Behalt. This afternoon we take time to visit the unique shops here in the Amish country, including a cheese shop and bulk food store. We enjoy a delicious dinner together. This evening we take our seats for a hilarious family-friendly variety show at the Amish Country Theatre. This will be a fun-packed 2-hour comedy adventure. (D)
Day 5

WARTHER CARVINGS • HOME:

This morning we visit the shop of the world's master carver, Ernest Warther. Using only a knife, files, and native ingenuity, he carved the history of steam locomotives and trains. He also carved an 18th century steel mill and other intricate carvings. Mrs. Warther's button collection is also an interesting thing to see. On our way home we'll recall the fun we've had, the places and sights we've seen and the meals we've enjoyed!
