Day 1

FLIGHT TO ALBANY • BURLINGTON, VT:

Today we are transported to the Charlotte Airport for our flight to Albany, NY. We travel into the heart of fall foliage for our next two nights in Vermont. Dinner will be included tonight. (D)

Day 2

COLD HOLLOW CIDER MILL • SHELBURNE MUSEUM • SPIRIT OF ETHAN ALLEN DINNER CRUISE:

After breakfast, we begin the day by visiting Cold Hollow Cider Mill, which features a large cider press, a cider jelly making room, natural ingredient bakery, and impressive retail store. This afternoon we visit Shelburne Museum, a remarkable 45-acre reconstruction of three centuries of early American life. We climb aboard the Spirit of Ethan Allen and enjoy a relaxing sail across Lake Champlain while feasting on a grand dinner. Lake Champlain is a beautiful fresh water in-land sea squeezed between New York, Vermont and Canada. We cruise this deep water lake and view the beauty of the Adirondack Mountains to the west and Vermont’s Green Mountains to the east. (D)

Day 3

MORSE MAPLE SUGAR WORKS • LOON MOUNTAIN GONDOLA RIDE • CAFÉ LAFAYETTE DINNER TRAIN:

Today’s sightseeing begins at the Morse Maple Farm for a sugar house tour and tasting. We then travel to Lincoln NH to check into our hotel and ride the Loon Mountain Gondola. Take New Hampshire’s longest scenic Gondola Skyride to the summit of Loon Peak, where breathtaking views and high-altitude adventure await. Early evening we board the Café Lafayette Dinner Train for an experience you will long remember. Riding in vintage restored Pullman cars, we enjoy an elegant fivecourse feast as we travel through the lush New England forest and magnificent mountain vistas. (D)

Day 4

FRANCONIA NOTCH STATE PARK • CANNON MOUNTAIN TRAM • KANCAMAGUS SCENIC BYWAY • PORTLAND HEAD LIGHTHOUSE:

This morning we travel through Franconia Notch State Park on the way to the Cannon Mountain Tram. We’ll ride the enclosed 80-passenger tramway rising 2,022 feet over a distance of one mile to Cannon Mountain Summit where the view is magnificent. The Kancamagus Scenic Byway takes you through the White Mountain National Forest with breathtaking fall foliage views of the White Mountains, the Swift River, Sabbaday Falls, Lower Falls and Rocky Gorge on the way to North Conway. After some free time to explore, we travel to Portland, Maine where we we admire the beauty of Maine’s rugged coastline. Cape Elizabeth is home to one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world, the Portland Head Lighthouse. Dinner is included tonight. (D)

Day 5

MAINE OCEAN DRIVE • LUNCH • GLOUCESTER TOUR:

Our drive along Ocean Drive features stunning views of the Maine coastline and the homes of Kennebunkport’s rich and famous, including a slow drive by the summer retreat of the late President George H.W. Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush. We make our way to Gloucester for lunch. We enjoy a delicious lunch including fresh, locally caught seafood. Next we explore America’s oldest seaport on Cape Ann during our sightseeing tour. We’ll make a photo stop on Gloucester’s Stacey Boulevard to see the statues that tell the stories of this working fishing village. (L)

Day 6

TOUR OF SALEM • BOSTON CITY TOUR • DINNER:

Today we travel to Salem, MA, known for the Salem Witch Trials and home of 18th century master builder Samuel McIntyre and author Nathaniel Hawthorne. Next, we stop in Boston at Faneuil Hall and have time for shopping and lunch at Quincy’s Marketplace before meeting our step-on guide for an informative city tour. Sites include the Old North Church, Boston Common, Beacon Hill and dozens of other Boston “must sees.” Dinner is included tonight before checking into our hotel. (D)

Day 7

NEWPORT, RI • TEN MILE DRIVE • FLIGHT HOME:

Before our flight home, we travel to Newport RI and the acclaimed “Ten Mile Drive.” As our coach slowly winds through the many homes and exquisite estates of the “400,” we’ll marvel at the beauty of these buildings & grounds. This afternoon we arrive at the Providence airport for our flight home.
