This morning we fly to San Diego, California. Flights are arranged from the Charlotte Airport, but other airport departures are also available. After settling into our accommodations, be our guests this evening for dinner. (D)

We embark on a guided tour of San Diego-the city where the sun always shines! Along with many other sights, we see the Mission San Diego de Alcala, the first and oldest of the 21 missions established by missionaries in the 1700’s. Our next stop is Old Town Plaza where we take time for lunch and shopping. This afternoon we enjoy a scenic cruise viewing the North Island Naval Air Station, Harbor and Shelter Islands, the Naval Sub Base and Cabrillo National Monument. We enjoy dinner together this evening. (D)

Today we visit the world famous San Diego Zoo, where you’ll find more than 3,200 wild animals representing more than 800 species. We take a tram ride through the subtropical gardens that are the natural habitat for these fascinating animals. We drive north along the coast and make a visit to the charming Mission San Juan Capistrano. Founded in 1775, the mission is famous for the annual return of the swallows every March 19th. We arrive in Los Angeles where we spend the next four nights. Dinner is included tonight. (D)

This morning we enjoy a guided tour of Los Angeles, including downtown, TCL Chinese Theatre, and China Town. We make a stop at the Los Angeles Farmer’s Market. This afternoon we visit the Ronald W. Reagan Presidential Library & Museum. Artifacts from his childhood and professional career provide physical evidence of his extraordinary life. A recreated studio booth highlights his early radio broadcasting career. Glimpse into Ronald and Nancy Reagan’s devoted marriage, a love story straight out of a Hollywood script. See a piece of the Berlin Wall, immerse yourself in Camp David and Rancho del Cielo. You will be able to board the Air Force One that served as the “Flying White House” for President Reagan and six other U.S. presidents from 1973-2001. This evening we enjoy dinner together. (D)

It’s finally here! The day we’ve all been waiting for! This morning we experience the one and only Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, one of the most photographed events in the world. Best of all, we have reserved seats for the best viewing of this oncein- a-lifetime event! More than 60 beautifully decorated floral floats, bands from all over North America, and numerous horses regally decked out in their finest attire make up just a part of this unforgettable spectacle. A box lunch is provided today. (L)

This morning we have a unique opportunity to step up close and see the majestic beauty and splendor of the floral floats. After every Rose Parade, the floral masterpieces are parked along Sierra Madre and Washington Boulevards in Pasadena and exhibited for visitors to walk by and see in close detail the design and workmanship that goes into these floats. Later we take time to drive out to Santa Monica to view the beautiful beach, the Pacific Ocean coastline and take time to walk on the pier. Dinner is included this evening. (D)
