Day 1
PADUCAH:
Grab your friends as we set
out for a shopper’s paradise, visiting some
of the most popular shopping destinations in
the country. Today’s journey carries us through
Tennessee to Paducah, KY.
Day 2
NATIONAL QUILT MUSEUM • LAMBERT’S
THROWED ROLLS:
Our morning begins with
a visit to the National Quilt Museum to explore
one of the world’s top quilt displays. Exhibiting
quilts from around the world, the Museum is
visited by over 115,000 quilt and art enthusiasts
annually. Boasting of three galleries filled with
extraordinary quilt and fiber art, the exhibits are
rotated 7-8 times a year, ensuring there is always
something new to see. We travel on towards
Missouri and have dinner at the world famous
Lambert’s Café, home of the delicious throwed
rolls. Here you can eat all the rolls you can catch,
along with beans, fried okra, barbecue, ham, beef,
molasses and just about anything else your heart
desires. We overnight in Joplin, MO. (D)
Day 3
WOOLAROC MUSEUM • WILDLIFE
PRESERVE • PAWHUSKA, OK • THE PIONEER WOMAN
MERCANTILE • DINNER:
Hidden away in the rugged Osage Hills
of North-eastern Oklahoma, Woolaroc was established as the
ranch retreat of oilman Frank Phillips. The ranch is a 3,700
acre wildlife preserve and home to many species of native
and exotic wildlife, such as bison, elk and longhorn cattle.
Woolaroc is also a museum with an outstanding collection of
western art and artifacts, Native American material, one of
the finest collections of Colt firearms in the world, and so
much more. We spend the rest of our day in the home town
of the Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond. We will have lunch
on our own and then spend the afternoon shopping at The
Pioneer Woman’s Mercantile. “The Merc” has gorgeous
goods, comfort foods, fresh-made pastries, delicious coffee,
and plenty of fun to dish out. Tonight we have an included
dinner at the Mercantile. (D)
Day 4
SOUTHFORK RANCH • LUNCH • DEALEY PLAZA:
Today we
travel south into the heart of Texas. You may remember
the tv show Dallas, where viewers were welcomed to the home
of the Ewings for 13 years. This afternoon we will visit the
Southfork Ranch where the show was filmed. We will tour the
house and have an included lunch. We will make a brief stop
at Dealy Plaza, the “birthplace of Dallas” and the location of
the assassination of United States President John F. Kennedy.
We travel on south for our overnight. (L)
Day 5
WACO GUIDED TOUR • MAGNOLIA MARKET AT THE SILOS
• TEXAS RANGER MUSEUM:
This morning we head to Waco,
TX, the Hometown of Chip & Joanna Gaines. We start our day
with a guided tour of Waco, stopping at all the familiar spots
from their HGTV’s Fixer Upper show. We will hear the restoration
story of Waco and explore the gorgeous neighborhoods of
the area. After the tour we will have free time for lunch on your
own and shopping at Magnolia Market & Silos. Located just
a few blocks from the Magnolia Market, is the Texas Ranger
Hall of Fame and Museum. Here we’ll find out all about these
famous lawmen who have been called one of the most effective
investigative law enforcement agencies in the world.
Day 6
FIRST MONDAY, THE WORLD’S LARGEST FLEA MARKET •
DINNER • MONROE, LA:
For more than 150 years, shoppers
from across Northeast Texas and beyond have been coming
to the Original First Monday Trade Days in Canton, known as
the largest continually operating outdoor flea market in the
United States. We will spend time shopping for antiques and
collectibles, furniture and home decor, arts and crafts, jewelry
and vintage clothing. We will have space aboard the motorcoach
where you can store all your purchases from the market.
Dinner is included tonight before we arrive at our overnight
in Monroe, LA. (D)
Day 7
DUCK COMMANDER
STORE AND TOUR •
MISSISSIPPI ARTS •
ENTERTAINMENT CENTER
• TUSCALOOSA:
Today
we head to the town of
the hit television show
Duck Dynasty. The mustsee
Warehouse exhibit
will walk you through
15 galleries featuring
Robertson family artifacts
and pictures, set recreations and costumes, and will take you
on a sensorial experience on a duck hunt with the Duckmen
of Louisiana. This afternoon we arrive at the Mississippi Arts
& Entertainment Center, an educational, entertaining, and
interactive facility to celebrate Mississippians’ contributions
to arts and entertainment. We overnight in Tuscaloosa, AL
this evening.
Day 8
ATLANTA GA •
LUNCH • HOME:
Before we reach
home we stop and
have one final lunch
together in Atlanta,
GA. We then travel
home remembering
our great time
together. (L)
