Day 1

CHARLESTON • MAGNOLIA GARDENS • DINNER • “THE SOUND OF CHARLESTON”:

Experience the charm of South Carolina’s coast as we travel to Charleston and Beaufort on this short getaway. Arriving in Charleston shortly after lunch, we visit Magnolia Plantation and Gardens which provides a nostalgic and beautiful look back in history. We enjoy dinner together this evening before taking our seats at Charleston’s longest running musical production, The Sound of Charleston. (D)

Day 2

CHARLESTON CITY TOUR • CITY MARKET • BOONE HALL PLANTATION • DINNER CRUISE:

We begin our day with a guided tour of the city, where everything from the cobblestones to the ironwork has a story to tell. Stopping by City Market, we have free time to shop and have lunch on our own. This afternoon we visit Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens. Numerous popular movies and television shows have included the beauty and charm of the plantation and gardens. We have some time back at the hotel before our evening dinner cruise. As we dine on a delicious multi-course dinner, we cruise through the beautiful Charleston Harbor, past Fort Sumter, along the Battery and beneath the Ravenel Bridge. (D)

Day 3

CHARLESTON TEA GARDEN • KAZOO MUSEUM AND FACTORY • BEAUFORT • PARRIS ISLAND MUSEUM • DINNER:

Home to delicious classic and specialty teas, Charleston Tea Garden provides a unique and once in a lifetime experience on our trolley tour. Hundreds of thousands of tea bushes stretch as far as the eye can see. Sample a taste to decide which tea is your favorite! Then grab some to take home before we depart for our next stop. With a smile on your face and a “buzz” in your mouth, we all have memories of making funny sounds on a kazoo. Step back into your childhood at the Kazoo Museum and see how these precious toys are made, from start to finish. Traveling just a bit north, we arrive in Beaufort at Parris Island, the Marine Corps Recruit Depot. We visit the Museum where every artifact holds a story. Our dinner is included tonight at a local favorite before we check in at our hotel. (D)

Day 4

CARRIAGE TOUR OF BEAUFORT • FREE TIME • HOME:

Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina on a horse-drawn carriage tour! Climb in, settle back, and enjoy a narrated ride through the historic area of one of South Carolina’s most charming towns. We have free time after the tour for browsing and exploring Beaufort on our own before we board our motorcoach for our journey home.
