Day 1

VIRGINIA • MARYLAND:

This morning we embark on an Autumn get-away to the von Trapp Family Lodge Resort and Vermont. This evening, we reach our overnight destination in Maryland.

Day 2

NEW YORK • STATUE OF LIBERTY • ELLIS ISLAND CRUISE:

Mid-morning finds us approaching Liberty State Park. We take a boat ride to the Statue of Liberty. Catch the ferry from the Statue over to Ellis Island and see where more than 14 million immigrants came into the United States in search of the American Dream. We make our way to Albany for our overnight.

Day 3

ROBERT TODD LINCOLN’S HILDENE MANSION • VERMONT COUNTRY STORE • 2 NIGHTS AT THE VON TRAPP FAMILY LODGE • DINNER AT THE LODGE:

This morning we visit Hildene, the stately home of Robert Todd Lincoln. The Georgian Revival mansion contains original furnishings, a 1,000-pipe organ and family memorabilia. The Vermont Country Store is known for those practical hard to find items. Step back in time as you browse the aisles of products that still work today as they did “back in the day.” We check into the famous Trapp Family Lodge. Tonight we’ll treat you to a special New England dinner, served Austrian style in the surroundings of the von Trapp Family Lodge. The Sound of Music is the most successful American musical film ever made. The famous Von Trapp Family Singers were on tour in the United States in 1939 when they discovered Stowe, Vermont. This tiny mountain hamlet reminded them of the home they left behind in Austria. (D)

Day 4

BREAKFAST • COLD HOLLOW CIDER MILL • AFTERNOON AT VON TRAPP FAMILY LODGE/WAGON RIDE • DINNER AT THE LODGE:

After a hearty breakfast at the von Trapp Family Lodge, we begin the day by visiting the Cold Hollow Cider Mill, which features a large cider press, a cider jelly making room, natural ingredient bakery, and impressive retail store. Later, back at the von Trapp Family Lodge, we’ll experience the natural beauty of the mountain top sitting on a horse drawn wagon ride, as we venture thru pastures and woods. You’ll have some free time before another tantalizing dinner. (B, D)

Day 5

BREAKFAST • SHELBURNE MUSEUM OR BILLINGS FARM • ALBANY • DINNER:

We have breakfast at the lodge this morning. Today we visit the Shelburne Museum, a remarkable 45-acre reconstruction of three centuries of early American life. (On the October 24 departure: The Shelburne Museum will be replaced with a visit to Billings Farm.) Dinner is included this evening. Our overnight accommodations are in Albany. (B, D)

Day 6

LANCASTER • SIGHT & SOUND THEATRE “JOSHUA” • DINNER:

This afternoon, we take our seats at the Sight & Sound Theatre for the production of “Joshua.” From the banks of the Jordan River to the towering walls of Jericho, “Joshua” is a miraculous adventure. Experience one of the most redemptive stories of the Bible as it Trapp Family Lodge / Trapp Family Lodge comes to life on stage. Dinner is included in Lancaster this evening. (D)

Day 7
